Lawn Treatment
One of the first steps to a creating a healthy lawn is to have Hort Pro perform a soil test to determine any nutrient problems that may be preventing your lawn from flourishing. A soil test will provide the current pH and nutrient makeup of your soil, and with this analysis, a proper treatment can be prescribed.
Once this information is determined, a fertilizer program will be recommended by Hort Pro based on soil analysis results. Other recommendations may also include adjusting mowing height, weed control and prevention, disease or insect control / prevention, aeration, over seeding or top dressing. A typical lawn treatment program for fescue lawns is as follows:
- Round (1) Late Winter: Pre-emergent herbicide and fertilizer application; spot spray existing weeds
- Round (2) 2Nd application of Pre-emergent + Fertilizer + spot spray existing weeds; disease prevention if necessary
- Round (3) Fertilize and spot spray existing weeds
- Round (4) Spot spray weeds; insect control (if necessary)
- Round (5) Over seed / Aerate + Fertilizer
- Round (6) Fertilizer + spot spray existing weeds
